Thanks for participating in r/IPTVGroupBuy.

You can find answers to most questions linked from the Official Introduction to IPTVGROUPBUY, the last IPTV subreddit you will ever need.

Some topics, eg. "My service is down", "please help me identify a provider" are asked frequently. For these topics we have megathreads. Please direct discussions about these topics to the appropriate megathread to avoid clogging up the subreddit for everyone.

Please do not expect people here to tell you exactly which service you should go with. Asking that is asking to be scammed. If you're looking for something specific like cooking channels in your country, please do some research first. You're more likely to get a good response by saying "I checked the following providers and found X was pretty good but missing this vital channel / had buffering issues, while Y was terrible. What else should I look into?"

Perfect timing, I’m off work this week and was going to dive in to this today, thanks.

Very helpful...sadly I tried to follow on the mobile app. Which gave me grief in a few areas. However I'm figuring it out slowly. Thank you for the help and time you've put in.

can you provide more information of how this is done in the two playlist? "Update the provider details (e.g., new credentials) on the duplicate playlist." can't seem to find it...

[–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

<image>

Then on the duplicate playlist, select load channels. At the top right go to the advanced editor and select update provider details. Then you can select the provider based on url and edit the username and password.

[–]Ferrcad13 0 points1 point  (1 child)

thanks for the reply and clarification! can you answer one more question, in the auto updater area do you only setup using one of the accounts since the two accounts share the same URL? or do you some how make an auto updater for both playlists? if so, how is that done using the same server URL and two separate usernames and passowrds?

[–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes by provider url. It seems like you would benefit from just setting up one playlist and having multiple customers on it. I have 1 customer per device and since I am using strong, you just change the username and password of the customer on the third page under provider info. So if you are using one provider and just need the extra logins then use customers and change the set of credentials under the provider info when setting up customer info. Then you can go to the customer and select show info, which will give you the m3u or xtream links/logins for that user. If you want to have multiple playlists, They share auto updater so you only need to set it up once per provider url.

Honestly if you are in the US just use the country and local from iptv editor. I haven't gotten epgshare to work. Open-epg works, but not the all sources one for me, probably too big of a file. Find the specific country and add it that way.

[–]Imaginary-Heat8920 0 points1 point  (1 child)

do you then set it as default?

I have a question for those who have used iptv editor. Does removing unnecessary channels have a noticeable effect on the channel loading time? I don't have any issues with my epg so I haven't found a use for iptv editor yet but sometimes when am scrolling from all channels to favorites, tivimate takes quite a while to load those. Am wondering if this is something that reducing the total number of channels can help with.

[–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed playlist/epg update time being better since there is less to update. I personally remove a lot of stuff to make it mostly like live tv with ppv/sports/24/7 channels being included.

[–]HopefulHighlight5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! May be this will convince me to finally take the plunge👌

[–]Emgee323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I needed. Thank you. I think I'll definitely be getting IPTVE

Question about the setting up a customer. How do I change the URL for them all I see in the dropdown is my original without being able to add others? I have three playlists in my household for strong but all have a different URL for the XC code as well as the username and password.

[–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone can verify, but I think you have to create 1 customer per playlist. I haven't found a way to have customers across them.

Edit: You can use multiple providers in one playlist by selecting the dropdown under playlist manager and selecting add additional playlist. If you aren't worried about hitting customer limits then probably easier to create a customer per playlist.

[–]Ferrcad13 0 points1 point  (1 child)

another question, what if the provider changes the channel url from what you have in your playlist. Should this not update automatically? Please provide input I maybe missing...

[–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would configure that through the auto updater which would then add/delete channels in the categories.

[–]cmorencie 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This may be a dumb question, but once you import your custom playlist into TiviMate, does your IPTVEditor account need to be open 24/7 to sync continuously or does it pull from the online source?

[–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as long as you are suing their link to get the playlist then it is all hosted on their side. Only need it open to edit stuff.

[–]Major-Show-9305 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wow “Hot Keys” for the win!!

Shift+Click is everything in my life that I have been missing. Thank you! Are there any other hot keys?

[–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the only 2 I have used. I knew ctrl + click but saw someone talk about shift + click and it is a life saver.

Does anyone know how to *delete* EPG sources? I see "select new EPG Countries" and "Add external EPG source", but nothing to edit your choices.

    [–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Go to add an external epg source at the top right when under the epg menu. the bottom selection should allow you to select an epg source and then click delete.

Out of curiosity why don’t the Iptv providers do this ?

Wouldn’t that make them more attractable to customers with an accurate updated epg ?

Can I reach out to my reseller to do this so I don’t have to do it myself ?

    [–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It would make the service cost more. There are services that do this and they tend to be the ones that people are using before finding this sub reddit. I do resell to friends and friends of friends only, I do charge a decent bit more per year since I am actively managing the editor and making sure everything is working. Reseller's, as far as z2u and alibaba go, won't do this as they just sell the raw product. I would encourage you to learn iptv editor if you feel that it is worth the time. Plus then maybe you could sell to friends, while still being cheaper than most resellers.

    [–]draaboulhosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a process And fear is seller ultimately disappears and have to repeat process And most people recommend a backup service so have to do it twice

Played around w iptvboss and iptveditor. Neither were easy and neither seemed to work.

Resorted to updating main channels I need manually in tivimate and even that didn’t come out so great

    [–]Beautiful-Influence9 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hey im a little confused regarding step 7.. do you only map categories if you created custom categories?

    [–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only need to map the categories if you have renamed or created a new category.

    [–]Csx2567 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Does renaming channels or categories cause issues in the future? Thanks for this excellent guide.

    [–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Categories can be mapped to the renamed ones with auto updater. Renaming channels can be a bad idea depending on if the channel name has somewhat of an epg built in.

    [–]pompeysmudge 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hi all, hoping someone can help I have just delved in to editor for the first time and have found an issue.

The main things I wanted to do were to:
    1. Delete channels that I will never use or watch

    1. Re-order my live channel category list so that my commonly watched channels are close to the top.

I am not fussed about EPG or the like I just want to make it slightly more user friendly and cut out some of the guff that I will never watch.

    1. completed successfully.

    2. I have re-ordered the categories on IPTV editor and they appear at the top of the list, however when I load it in to my provider (smarters, don't judge me) the categories appear in alphabetical order rather than in the order that I have set them in the editor.
Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve ?

    Many thanks

    [–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't used smarters but it is a setting somewhere in it. I use tivimate and its easily changeable in it.

    [–]shynepapin101 0 points1 point  (2 children)

u/Educational-Ring1091 I'm been looking for Click Add External EPG Source in the top right, after loading the channels but I can't seem to find this option.

    Anyone with suggestions?

    [–]Educational-Ring1091[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This icon at the top right when in the epg editor:

    Thank you, found it.

Thanks, I'm so glad I found this!!

Does anyone's 'dummy channels' in EPG on UHF show something completely random? Like for NBA PPV, it would show like Everybody Hates Chris. The value selected would be DUMMY-1141 or something like that

    [–]uknowdavibez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a stupid question, but for continued use you will need the paid version?
