Thanks for participating in r/IPTVGroupBuy.

If this is your first time posting, please check here to see if your question has already been answered. Most Popular Posts, IPTV Getting Started Guides, & FAQs.

Some topics, eg. "My service is down", "please help me identify a provider" are asked frequently. For these topics we have megathreads. Please direct discussions about these topics to the appropriate megathread to avoid clogging up the subreddit for everyone.

Lastly, please do not expect people here to tell you exactly which service you should choose. Asking that is asking to be scammed. If you're looking for something specific, please do some research first. You're more likely to get a good response by saying "I checked the following providers and found X was pretty good but missing this vital channel / had buffering issues, while Y was terrible. What else should I look into?"

I'd suggest that something people need to know/expect when dealing with Z2U or Alibaba is that these vendors are in a very different timezone than we in the US are (and Europe too).

Do not expect a reply to a chat 3AM China time. I've not run into anything that seems to be a "24/7" operation.

You need to be patient. In fact I get the "feeling" that for many of these vendors that this isn't their full time job. I think it's a side-gig for a lot of them.

Also, they take days off. Everyone deserves a day off after all. Yes, it's "inconvenient" to us customers.

I've waited upwards of 48 hours for a reply to a chat message, from what I consider to be a very solid vendor (usually, not that time lol). I'm sure they have things that happen in "real life" just like we do.

So I think you need to temper your exceptions vs. the cost of what you are paying for.

"Do not expect a reply to a chat 3AM China time."
In my experience they do lol

When I shop for IPTV on Z2U, I try to buy from sellers who have many sales. I stay away from sellers who have very low sales. Just click on the seller's name to see how many sales they've made. I've had good luck doing that.

I’m trying to set up an IPTV service on a fire stick but I’m a bit confused. Do I download Tivimate first then purchase a provider subscription online and enter a code into Tivimate?

Right now I just have downloader app. Am I wrong to think I download a VPN, then download Tivimate, then purchase a subscription online, then enter a code? Sorry, first time doing this and any link to a basic setup for dummies post is super helpful. Thanks.

I’m newer to all this myself but what you described in the first paragraph is the same set up I’ve been using/doing.

I haven’t had the need to use a VPN yet, so I don’t know how they work.

Use your downloader to download tivimate. (If you didn’t pay for premium tivimate, there will be some features not available to you that you will want.)

Purchase your IPTV service from whatever company you want (I recommend only one month at a time to start). The one I use (Xtremehdiptv) sends you an Xtreme code, a username and password, to enter into tivimate to get your service there. It’s called a playlist at this point. And you can add multiple playlists into Tivimate if you want.

Thanks so much. I’m seeing mixed information about VPNs. I’m not in the US so I’m probably not going to use one anyway.

I am brand new to iptv. I was hoping to do this all by myself when I found this reddit group.

So from what I have read so far is I download tivimate (free version first) and buy a trial from alibab to test if the service is what I need.

Can someone help me if I am right or what should be my very first step ( as in what you download on my tv)

Yes you are in the right path, sometimes Alibaba can be overwhelming so also checkout Z2U.

But here is a questions for you what device are you going to use? Are you in a country that blocks IPTV, if so look for a good VPN. What will be your main content to watch; every service has a different focus on content.

[–]rifam73 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Ahh thanks for your response

I am hoping to use it on my Samsung smart TV (the TV is only 2 yrs old so has an app store where I can download most of the apps)

I am from Canada and my main content would be using Netflix shows and Asian (hindi) channels

Look into a device, smart tv apps are hit or miss. You will also probably need a VPN.

I have seen stbEMU used by many many people on FireStick. It emulates the native UI on MAG boxes. It offers a simple but useful menu with reverse (date) sorted content. I don't believe I saw that possible in other players. Somehow, providers seem to favor Smarters app.

Thanks for so much great info! I'm attempting to contact sellers and request a trial on z2u, haven't found any sellers online, and I'm not seeing any way to leave a message that he can see when he gets back online. I assume that's because it's nearly 1am in Hong Kong but shouldn't I be able to at least whack out a message? Am I doing something wrong?

          [–]dfoolioValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Yes they’re in China, some are online late at night as well.

          [–]first_name_lisa 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The question was, how does he send a message to the sellers? Many don’t show that option.

          [–]dfoolioValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

On z2u there’s always an option to send a message to the sellers.. I’ll double check where it is later, but you do it through the z2u website

Thanks, I figured it out, thought I'd follow up. Seems like it was more of a browser issue. The text box was concealed by a browser bar at the bottom. (Brave browser) I was able to tap and scroll a bit to get it to come up at the very bottom. Keyboard won't appear until you click into a box that you have to coax out of hiding. Thanks for the help.
