Literally created a Reddit acc yesterday, not sure how this whole thing works as yet.

I came across a thread/post u/mrrobvs created, and right away it related to what I experienced as a newbie getting into the entire IPTV market. Huge props to that user and also OP for this thread for taking the time to include detailed info on these services. Love the folder you created too.

I gave TREX a shot (got it off z2u) and I can agree it has it's downsides. EPG was the first eye-opener as it took forever to populate, literally days lol. However, I'm not much of a sports person, so I do enjoy that it caters to the variety of categories/channels I prefer. I especially appreciate that I was not IP-Geo locked, as I was able to use it with various locations using VPN. I had an issue when trying this on Strong 8K.

After reading your post, I'm juggling between giving Eagle 4K a try or reverting to Strong 8K as TREX tends to buffer occasionally and that messes with recordings on my BuzzTV5 app.

Any idea what to search for on z2u as I don't see it in the operators filter? Also, is Eagle 4K geo locked?

Cheers!

[–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 15 points16 points  (13 children)

The EPG qualify on most of the services is pretty poor. Do yourself a favor and purchase a subscription to iptv editor.com and you can use their IPTV (and also strip out the thousands of channels you won’t use so everything updates faster).

Z2u has another filter on the left for product name. Type eagle in there and a half dozen offers will come up (there aren’t a lot of sellers for this one).

Edit: not sure about the geo lock.

[–]ihack2pwn 2 points3 points  (12 children)

Awesome, I'll check out IPTV editor. Also, I noticed there's Eagle TV and Eagle 4K, any differences?

I'll have to gamble that geo-lock or reach out to the seller to adjust VPN restrictions in their panel.

To avoid picking the wrong one, do you happen to have a screenshot of the splash page/landing channel for Eagle 4K (the one that says Thanks for choosing., etc.) I saw it somewhere before on the thread but can't seem to find it.

[–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 3 points4 points  (11 children)

From what I understand, Eagle 4k is different, but I'm not 100% sure. Also from what I can see, there are no category divider channels on Eagle 4k (Dino, Trex, Strong have these... I don't think Eagle does). Check the folder link above to match up categories if you're not sure you're looking at the same service.

[–]ihack2pwn 2 points3 points  (10 children)

Adding to your point, checked with Eagle 4k service and noticed that most of the categories lined up with the one you included in the folder.

However, I did notice a running header channel in one of the categories and also standby screen for channel under maintenance. Maybe you can confirm if this is the correct "Eagle 4k" and match with yours?

If it is the correct one, I may have to stick with Strong 8K since it has the channel line-up I am interested in. Testing that at the moment to see how it holds up, especially with recordings.

[–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 1 point2 points  (9 children)

I’ll check it out as soon as I can. To help others, what are you finding in Strong’s lineup that you can’t find in Eagle? That might be a better way for me to check to make sure it’s available or not in my version of eagle versus just matching the splash screen.

[–]ihack2pwn 4 points5 points  (8 children)

I am particularly interested in most USA/Canada channel line-up and SA | Caribbean or CRB | Caribbean, SU | Suriname, as well as World Cricket (Astro, Sky, Willow). Also, I enjoy some of the older shows/sitcoms from 70s - 90s that air on those 24/7 channels (TREX exceeds my expectation for this). Don't judge my taste lol, but I also enjoy shows like Border Security, MasterChef, Hell's Kitchen, etc. that air 24/7 on TREX which I find is missing in both Strong 8K and Eagle 4K.

So in a nutshell, it boils down to stability of the main USA/Canada channels and availability of my "preferred" mentioned categories above where I'm willing to make that sacrifice at the cost of losing some of those 24/7 feeds. (insert sad face, haha)

I'm going to keep testing Strong 8K with recording to see how it holds up. If all is well, I'll probably stick with that over my current TREX sub.

[–]toes_inthe_water 0 points1 point  (4 children)

How is your comparison going? I find Strong has a few times had audio and visual not in sync. Also epg off for some movies. Trex I found ok for both. Been trying both for 2 weeks now.

[–]ihack2pwn 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I use the timesync feature on my BuzzTV 5 app to keep things smooth. Based on my tests, I've concluded if I want to keep a perfect balance between channel variety (including my personal preferences), stream quality, catchup feature for USA/Canada, I'll have to stick with TREX as it outshines in these areas, even for VODs. I love to watch Survivor for example, and it was up-to-date within a couple of hours after the episode aired. TREX would be my go-to recommendation for all North American subscribers, but keep in mind I don't care about sports as much so my feedback is primarily based on local entertainment channels.

EPG had its hiccups here and there but quickly resolved itself over 1-2days. Then again, I don't use any form of EPG management editor because out-of-the box TREX EPG from the server is adequate for my use. Otherwise, very rarely I experience a channel freeze where I can easily fix with channel switching and I almost never experience any buffering.

TREX is the only service I tested where I can successfully enable VPN from any country without an issue by the way.

On a side note, I may re-test Eagle 4K to see if it can truly pull through with better stream quality results compared to TREX, but I'm not certain yet as others reported issues with EPG out-of-the-box.

[–]onsokuono4u 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Does your TREX sub have a Philippines/Filipino section? If so, does it have a working epg? I really need it for my in-laws, thanks!

[–]ihack2pwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to add— PVR recording is a gamble in general when tested among all tested services. It just boils down to how reliable the stream is at the time because some stuff records effortlessly, other times another show might fail. I can live with that providing TREX catchup continues to work as intended.

[–]congo100 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Great reviews! I'm trying to determine the provider of a free sub I'm using as I would like to buy. You say Trex has an extensive 24/7 list. If you still have Trex, could you see if Yukon Gold and Rust Valley Restorers are part of the 24/7 listings? These are 2 Canadian shows I have never seen anywhere. Thanks!

[–]ihack2pwn 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I did a general search and was not able to find those shows under any 24/7 categories. Sorry about that.

[–]congo100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks for your help. Appreciate your time. Happy New Year!

[–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

FYI: re: geo lock, I tried connecting with a VPN from a different country versus where I first signed up and nothing works so it does appear it’s somehow linked to where you first sign up.

[–]ihack2pwn 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I figured that may be an issue. I think u/mrrobvs mentioned he was able to contact his seller to have them apply VPN perms via their panel which allowed him to use any location of choice. I had a similar experience with Strong 8K where it's locked down to country upon signup.

[–]ihack2pwn 9 points10 points  (7 children)

My Opinion on Strong 8K and TREX;

Some category items between the two services appear to be similar in terms of Live TV channel line-up, just depends on how the seller curated their lists. One may have more than the other, or missing more content than the other, likewise a seller can offer more or less of the same "service".

TREX - appears to have pretty decent VODs and a "functional" catchup for Live TV if this is something that matters to you. Quality for general channels (news, local, entertainment, all the basic stuff) is pretty comparable to Strong 8K. I wouldn't argue that it is completely better as OP originally stated in spreadsheet, YMMV depending on what you watch. I find that the EPG in TREX can sometimes glitch and default to "No Information", however that's probably something backend as I don't use a dedicated/external EPG editor.

Strong 8K - reliability is a tad bit better in my opinion as well as quality of channels including the dedicated 4K channel line-ups. Even though they may be upscaled, they look damn good on my TV screen! Supposedly, Strong has less VODs in comparison to TREX, and I was also not able to get Catchup to work on Strong. I prefer recording via PVR, so stream reliability and buffering is something I'm more focused on as Catchup doesn't always work as expected. I also like the flexibility of skipping through commercials, lol.

To add, Strong 8K's landing page (bubbles) appears to be more "literate", like literally. They took their time to check for spelling errors on that page, lol. Not sure if this matters to you. Their channel lists also appear to be more "organized" out-of-the-box, however that could also be seller housekeeping. I find that these two factors while not important, do contribute to the QoS people are likely leaning towards when choosing a service.

Lastly, I was able to VPN from various locations on TREX without an issue. Strong 8K was locked to the IP location upon activation of service, and I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed in backend.

I'm quoting what u/eaglestarx said in another post here.

"The general praise for Strong might come from people who’ve had good experiences with specific sellers offering it. TRex could be just as good (or better) depending on who you buy it from. It really comes down to testing and seeing which one matches your needs."

I absolutely agree with this point. In my case, I'm willing to lean more towards Strong 8K only because it has the channels I watch, in pretty good quality too. I genuinely have about 100 channels favorited out of the +30K I can choose from. Very rarely I will use VODs to watch a movie. Once it works, I'm a happy camper! :)

Simply, test the services of your choice and see what you get out of them. If they have what you want, just stick with it. I really don't think you'll be able to find one that is truly superior to them all as they each have their own flaws.

[–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Awesome post, thanks for sharing! If you still have the TREX subscription, can you test a variety of the catchup channels advertised? My experience was that they had a nice-size list of channels advertised, but almost none of them worked when I tried to use them. If they are working now, it is definitely makes that service noticeably better for people who prioritize availability of catchup channels.

[–]ihack2pwn 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I tested this earlier today and confirmed a few things.

Catchup on TREX - works for me when trying to go back 1-2 days, maybe 3 if I'm lucky. It is still finicky and I can't really skip through the catchup stream as I would like to. If I rewind or fast-forward, it may take some time to buffer and play that part of the stream, or it may try to restart the entire catchup stream. This was tested primarily on local news and general entertainment channels for Canada/USA. I'll be honest, catchup wasn't working properly for me when I had first signed up for the service. After the outage on December 24, whatever maintenance occurred back-end seemed to fix this, for me at least.

TREX appears to be more North America oriented in the sense that it has a lot of Canada/USA channels with Catchup enabled. It does include a few UK channels with Catchup, but not as much as the Canada/USA line-up.

Strong 8K also has Catchup, but it focuses more on UK channels. I was not able to find any channels on Strong 8K in Canada/USA that had Catchup enabled.

If there are any Canadians or Americans who would like a pretty decent "Intro to IPTV" service, your best bet would be TREX in my honest opinion. It is a pretty well-rounded service that will cover your basic needs and offer comparable results to Strong 8K.

If I personally had to choose between TREX and Strong 8K, I would be picky and choose Strong 8K. Why? Because, if the stream stability is better on Strong 8K than TREX, I'd rather take that over TREX's Catchup function as I can simply record to PVR without any stream interruption (buffering) and rewind/fast-forward as I please from local storage file. At the moment, I do tend to get minor hick-ups in TREX which messes with my PVR recordings.

[–]ihack2pwn 1 point2 points  (2 children)

u/jcumb3r I had another look at your spreadsheet and the comparisons are almost head-to-head depending on how you look at things, minus a few caveats between the individual services. Caveats being channel availability, stability, quality, catchup feature, updated VODs, etc.

I was wondering if you might be able to add more channel tests for USA/Canada specifically, and still highlight their resolution quality as to which ones stands out. I'm going to be a little bias here, but I'm specifically interested in tests for TREX, Strong 8K, and Eagle 4K.

That would be very much appreciated! :)

[–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Probably wont' have time to do that any time soon... I only had 24h trials of Strong & Trex. I bought a 1m subscription of Dino and Eagle 4K. What I'd rather do (and keep saying I'm going to do but haven't done...) is create a form where people can submit their own information about a channel and a service so we have a wider list than what I first created... I haven't given up the idea yet...

[–]ihack2pwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, don't stress it. I know it definitely takes time to do all this and it's the Holidays so focus on spending that well deserved time with your loved ones FIRST!

[–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome review, thank you... super useful info here.

[–]blackman_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I’m a bit slow, but do you know if one provider is Strong8K or TREX?

[–]alyssagiovanna 4 points5 points  (4 children)

I just tried Eagle, and they have a folder for US UHD 60fps. Over 100 channels in there.

I wonder if this is the wholesale seller that created the folder, or Eagle mothership?

[–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check if it’s the same list I mentioned using the links in the original post. I think it’s from the mothership.

[–]MarkoVlc 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Where did you get the eagle sub? I asked multiple sellers on alibaba, none have eagle.

[–]bighouse0115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which eagle URL did you purchase from?

[–]DesertBoy22 4 points5 points  (3 children)

My contribution...I tried many providers ..USA using Xfinity Trex is the best with VPN using tivimate as a player no buffering even with live sports or busy time ..I tried dino and I would say it's just another trex reseller and there're a few buffering issues ... I'd say trex on Alibaba is affordable around 23$ for 12 months ..for dino it's around 16$ ...you can find these on z2u as well .. If you need another back up get strong 8k around 24$ on Alibaba it's one of the best and hottest provider in the market nowadays but not sure if it's VPN friendly or not..other cheaper back up options would be megaott it's around 13$ a year but you must use a VPN with it in order to minimize buffer issue with a European location....good luck

    yes agreed.

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The differences are agreed minor…. If you’re happy I don’t think there is a super compelling reason to switch unless you’re particular about stream quality on specific channels.

    [–]GeneralSeveral203 3 points4 points  (12 children)

Thank you for your efforts. For those new to chord cutting and who miss or need the mainstream US networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC including regional satellite networks like KOMO (ABC — SEATTLE) these tend to be the most difficult channels to obtain via IPTV. Could you include them in future versions?

Another thing that's important is the payment method and plans. Many providers or resellers only accept crypto and there might not be a monthly subscription. They want you to committ for three months or longer.

Also, why is that every reseller insists on you providing your mobile number for WhatsApp or Telegram? Many seniors like me don't use these apps and never will.

    [–]brucedundeeVeteran 6 points7 points  (3 children)

No seller I’ve ever had contact with on z2u will ask for a mobile number. Komo is on Eagle4k, Strong8k and Trex.

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for checking. u/Igeneralseveral203, I just checked on the Dino sub I have and it's there as well. Most providers I've checked have had a large local affiliate selection. Seattle is a major market so I'd expect most providers to have it.

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

If you haven’t shopped on z2u I would suggest you do. They accept standard payment methods (apple pay, credit card, etc. and don’t need your phone number).

Good idea about lists of local channels. For the ones I still have a sub to, I’ll put up the list of locals.

    [–]beachbum0727 -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

    [–]Nurse5736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!!! I don't know much about this yet, but once the holidays are over plan to go down the rabbit hole of learning. 😂. Very happy to see that we purchased thru Dino, as my son did that part.

    [–]jacktucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a the last strong reseller I used ask me to get my URL in WhatsApp. He didn’t provide the url through m2u

    [–]KrakenPipe 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Any issues with Eagle 4k on VPN?

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I just tested with a vpn connection from another country and it didn’t work so it appears there may be a lock to the region you start in.

    [–]MarkoVlc 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Could you mention where you got your eagle sub? I tried asking many alibaba sellers, none have it.

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can find it on z2u. Search for IPTV and then search for the product name eagle or eagle 4k

    [–]alyssagiovanna 2 points3 points  (14 children)

I'm not really happy with the Trex 4K options. The majority of those channels are non English European, even the 4K ESPN! There is some good 4K there for European soccer fans, though.

    [–]Leading-Promotion778 2 points3 points  (7 children)

It has the best quality sport channels for Canada, as far as I've found. It's the only provider that I've seen that offers a majority of the sport channels in Canada at 1080p.

    [–]ISayAboot 0 points1 point  (6 children)

    Which?

    [–]Leading-Promotion778 0 points1 point  (5 children)

    Trex.

    [–]ISayAboot 1 point2 points  (4 children)

You recommend? I'm in Canada. We mostly watch sports, football, hockey. Etc. Leafs...😂

    [–]Leading-Promotion778 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yeah, I think every TSN FHD and Sportsnet FHD is 1080p except for one TSN which is 720p. By far the best that I've tested for those networks.

    [–]ISayAboot 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thanks, where do I find out more info? Do they have a trial? Appreciate your responses.

    [–]Leading-Promotion778 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yup, easiest place to find is on Z2U. Just search IPTV and then filter by Trex. Once you find one, just chat with the seller to request a free trial. They usually offer anywhere from 4 hrs to 24 hrs.

    [–]ISayAboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Ty

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Agreed. Def more EU focused.

    [–]brucedundeeVeteran 0 points1 point  (4 children)

What channels broadcast in 4k in the USA ? For sports, NESN is the only one in native 4k full time, NBC is event only, Fox (upscaled broadcast) & ESPN (upscaled broadcast) are event only.

It’s quite hard to populate with American channels if there is none available.

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Agreed, almost none... what most people are really looking for here is 1080p/60fps, which is as good as it gets in most cases.

    [–]brucedundeeVeteran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, I’d rather have a stable 1080 than a jumpy as shit 4k that will get overloaded quickly when a popular event is on.

    [–]alyssagiovanna 0 points1 point  (1 child)

upscaled 1080p is still better than 720p for sports. No there isn't alot of true 4k out there. But Fubo and YTTV do have 4k channels for certain sports broadcasts. In Canada, Sportsnet and TSN have a 4k on Rogers.

    [–]brucedundeeVeteran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Fubo CA has the 1 channel for 4k EPL, the thing is, the games they show are the same ones that TNT Sports (1 uhd game a week) & Sky UK (min. 4 uhd a week ) broadcast .

I actually had a Fubu sub. before they went crazy last summer jacking their prices by 100 cad a year. It was one of the cheapest official subs around getting all epl.

Cheers for the info on Sportsnet & TSN .

    [–]alyssagiovanna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic work. I was honestly wondering why some at 12 months are one price, and others double. Based on your spreadsheet, the more expensive providers have more 1080/60ffs

This is the kinda thing I would pay a reseller for. Create a playlist using the best of the best channels from 2 or 3 providers. Gives me redundancy too.

    [–]miracle-meatFounding Member 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is amazing, it’s exactly the kind of stuff I’m looking for.

Other categories you can potentially compare against whenever you get a chance:

    • how behind the streams are? For instance, if a show is scheduled to start at 9 sharp and it starts at 9:01, it is 1 minute behind. You can check out scores on Yahoo App or Google and see the time marker and score and compare it to the live game to see how behind the stream is.

    • flipping between channels average time or do they all load instantly?

Listing of the dns for each of these would be nice so we quickly know which is which.

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

These are the names they’re sold under on z2u. How would the dns names help on top of that ? I assume you mean the URLs used to log in, in which case those vary a ton and I don’t think would be as useful as the service names themselves which are sorted by seller on z2u whereas server URL’s are not. Let me know if I’m missing something.

    [–]Plenty_Rest5365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would help to identify each one when I see a share code out in the wild.

    [–]ovalseven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    those vary a ton

Sure, but if we have at least one, the related ones can often be found with urlscan.

    [–]KidRockzValued Collaborator 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is King premium King 365? If not, try King 365 and Tivi One from z2u.

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Kings marketing is confusing. I had a long talk with my seller about it and he explained that there is a lower and higher tier and they use different names. When I asked for the higher tier, he added a bunch of categories and channels to my trial and said I was testing the “best” one.

Re: “TiVi”. I only see one seller for it. It’s more expensive than anything else I’ve tried and it’s only for 12 months. Is this the one? I looked at my history and that’s the only seller I contacted who never responded to multiple chat requests so I’m going to steer clear of that one.

If you’ve tried it please share your experience.

    [–]KidRockzValued Collaborator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried Tivi, but I saw it in another site (made-in-china), listed as top 5 server.

    [–]jcumb3rValued Collaborator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That just means it wasn't working at the time I tested it. It definitely could be back up by now. I just thought I should at least note when a channel was offline b/c it's some indication of the quality of the service (though admittedly that's a very very short point in time test).

I have Dream 4K and just wonder if Eagle and Dream 4K have the same channel list? There are categories ES Bundesliga PPV, ES DAZN SERIE A.

The full list of categories is available in the folder linked above, please let us know if it looks like they're all the same (or even most of them). If all/most of them are the same, it could mean Dream is a reseller of Eagle 4K, which would be helpful to know. Eagle 4K has as splash screen on channels that aren't active that's been posted in other threads a few times. if your service has a splash screen on those channels, you could post it here for others to see and identify if it looks like a resale of another service.

Live channels are like in Eagle 4k.

If Dream 4K and Eagle are the same then they should have equal quality? No reason to switch from Dream 4K to Eagle?

    [–]Strict-Finance-5987Valued Collaborator 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Yes, they look similar. I did' find a list of live channels for Eagle not 4k, but vod categories are the same.

I think another way to check would be to see if this category exists (which I've not seen outside eagle 4k)

    - USA Ultra 60FPS

Lastly, the splash screen (on dummy channels with no live stream) looks like this:

    There is such category.

Good find. This is definitely an eagle 4K copy (or vice versa) .

u/afckinidiot, u/mrrobvs , FYI above, figured you guys would find this comment thread above of interest. Thanks to u/Strict-Finance-5987 for figuring this out.

Yes I believe u/mrrobvs has mentioned that Eagle and Dream are the same. Credit to him

great work I must say, do you think you could do more testing at a later point for the brits and Canadians at some point to see if there is a clear trend in quality with any of the services?

Not sure if this is allowed, but what is the best for American Sports (NFL, NCAA, MLB) regarding buffering.

I used an IPTV service last NFL season and seemed to always be buffering. Is this normal or should I be looking for a different provider?

I'd name drop the provider but pretty sure that is not allowed.

Thank you for this! I am happy I found this reddit =)

Has anyone tested these services at different times during a day? I have subscribed to almost every single provider that is offered on Z2U (purchased one month subs) and most all of them have buffering issues during what I think is peak time during the day (between 8pm - 10pm EST) and seem to be fine the rest of the day/evening.

I have a fiber ISP 1gig down/up and it's very stable. I also have two other IPTV services that are not on Z2U and are more of a private seller that advertises on a well known forum (hush, hush man now /wink) and those IPTV services have not buffered during this time frame.

            Thanks again!

Yes, I have, and no… I haven’t experienced this. Stop shilling for other services here please.

Does the TREX sub have a Philippines/Filipino section? If so, does it have a working epg? I really need it for my in-laws, thanks!

Did you look at the folder with category names in it ? Do a trial … they’re cheap. And your question is a bit niche. Unlikely someone just knows off the top of their head.

            Thanks, I appreciate the reply.

            [–]onsokuono4u -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. The most likely channels that they will be using would be TV5, TV5 Kapatid, TFC, GMA, and TV4. Thanks again!
